Take a Hike

It was a hiking weekend! Saturday morning, my friends and I met before sunrise and hiked the Wind Cave Trail in Usery. That's a really pretty hike and one to do early before the crowds arrive. It was a beautiful morning out there. Afterwards, we tried out another good breakfast place. Of course we did! The Sunnyside Breakfast Lounge is the perfect spot for a hearty meal right after a workout at Usery. We recommend.

Yesterday, the kids and I set off for Lost Dutchman State Park. We did the Treasure Loop, Prospector's View, and Jacob's Crosscut trails. It was a good way to see most of the park. It was another perfect morning, and it was surprising how green it was there. Well, this is about as green as Arizona gets.

We were trying to beat the sun coming over top the mountain.

It looks like he's pointing to Elizabeth, but he's really trying to show the caves.

nothin' but desert

"I'm tired. I'm hungry." Nevermind that he ate a huge bowl of oatmeal less than an hour before this photo was taken.

This is what happens when you tell him not to smile.

requisite "show us how much you love each other" photo

It was literally all downhill on the way back. Nice stroll through the desert.

We're looking forward to some visitors this spring. Maybe you'll want to join us on some hikes? :)
