A Birthday Surprise

Tomorrow is Matthew's eighth birthday. For his birthday celebration at school, he's taking enough donut holes for each of his classmates to have three. That's reasonable, right? I thought so, but it's just about the polar opposite of the celebration a mom brought for her son in my class today. There were cupcakes, Minute Made bottles of juice for everyone, a huge mylar balloon bouquet, and a treat bag filled with chips and candy for each child to take home. I'd never seen treats like that before, and this was at a Title 1 school. It very well may be true that those who have the least are the most generous.
