Goodbye, Tom.

This day began with rotten news, and now we just got another round of it. To say I'm more shocked and shaken by a rock n roll musician's untimely death than a mass shooting in America is telling of our current culture, isn't it? It feels so weird and so wrong.

We never did get to see him live and in person, but Tom Petty goes with us everywhere. There are few musicians or bands that all four of us enjoy and love, but he was one of them. Every road trip and often quick trips to school or to the grocery store are set to his soundtrack. His music will live on in our cars and home, but now the tunes will bring about a bit of sadness.

Love ya, Tom. Everyone's gonna say it now, but you really do belong among the wildflowers.
