Day 10--Turning the Bend

Although today wasn't perfect, the oatmeal raisin cookies are gone so I there is hope for me to get back on track. I'm optimistic! Breakfast at 7:15 am oatmeal with half banana and almond butter Snack at 10:00 am reduced-fat cheese stick and a cup of grapes Lunch at 12:00 pm Our Girl Scout troop had an end of the year pool party. Pizza was on the menu so I brought my own turkey/spinach/tomato/cheese sandwich on whole wheat. I ate my sandwich but we stayed longer than I anticipated and there was pizza left over and you already know it's my vice so I had a slice. And then another a little later. My friend said she'd bring watermelon but forgot it at her house. The only thing sweet was reduced-fat Chips Ahoy cookies. Eeewww. But I ate two anyway. Snack at 4:30 pm some raw almonds Dinner at 6:00 pm Cheeseburger (whole wheat bun with lettuce, tomato, ketchup and mustard), salad (green leaf lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, zucchini, red pepper, balsamic vinaigrette), the baked version of french fries, two oatmeal raisin cookies. They're gone!!!! 9:30 pm Brian and I indulged in some chips and salsa. Not a lot.

Day 9

It's like a walk of shame. In my defense, I was anxious about something all day. Luckily, there was nothing to be anxious about but still...I'm learning I'm an emotional eater. It's like a vicious cycle. I feel bad/anxious/stressed and I make a bad food choice. I feel bad/anxious/stressed about that choice so I eat something else I shouldn't eat. Then the day is "ruined" so I might as well go all out and start over tomorrow. Ack. Breakfast at 7:15 am raisin bran with skim milk Snack at 9:15 am three stupid, fresh, and delicious oatmeal raisin cookies Lunch at 11:00 am turkey salsa wrap with spinach and cheese, cottage cheese, and two slices of watermelon 1:00 pm two slices of watermelon for the sweet craving 1:30 pm Still have the craving so I eat FOUR oatmeal raisin cookies Snack at 3:00 pm almonds and an apple Dinner at 4:00 pm Cooking Light enchilada casserole and salad (green leaf lettuce, tomatoes, balsamic vinaigrette) three oatmeal raisin cookies (I KNOW!) After swim treat with a friend at 8:30 pm orange cream paleta 10:00 pm a couple pretzels

Day 8--What is Happening?!

I need to get a grip. One cheat day can lead me to a downward spiral very quickly. It's not even "my time" so I need to find some strength to fight off the baked goods cravings. Breakfast at 8:15 am oatmeal with almond butter, maple syrup, and 1/2 cup orange juice Snack at 10:45 Matthew and I were doing a lot of running from store to store and he was taking it like a champ so I got him a popcorn at Target. I ate some, too. How could I not?! Lunch at 12:30 pm turkey/Gruyere/spinach/apple sandwich Something sweet at 1:30 pm two Harry & David dark chocolate covered toffee almonds Snack at 3:15 pm more Target popcorn (darn that huge bag!), almonds, and raisins Binge fest at 4:30 pm I made oatmeal raisin cookies as an end of the year gift for the school office staff. The cookies were fresh--warm and chewy--so I ate three of them. Dumb.
Dinner at 5:30 pm Cooking Light Enchilada Casserole with green salad (green leaf lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, balsamic viniagrette) Skateland Birthday party at 7:00 pm The kids ate pizza for dinner at the party, but I ate in advance so I wouldn't eat pizza and cake there. Well, they didn't finish their pieces and it looked good and a former Miss Arizona was a party guest and she ate the pizza so my rationale was that if Miss Arizona ate the pizza, I could eat the pizza. Geez oh man. So when it was cake time, what the hell? I ate the cake, too. I think it's bad luck for the birthday girl if everyone doesn't eat her cake, right? After that, I was done for the night! So in summary I have not only fallen off the wagon, but it is running me over and over and over again. But tomorrow is fresh with no mistakes. "Turn the clock to zero, Honey...we're starting up a brand new day." Thanks, Sting.
